Hi love! As I pen down these words, my heart is filled with warmth and care for you. You are a joy; every moment you spend here counts and I'm grateful to have another opportunity to write this to you.
I have been ranting to you lately about the lessons I learned from the book of Esther.
Today, I have just a few things to tell you about my discovery from the book of Esther.
Sadly, Haman was hanged as I wrote to you last week but here's what happened next…(meanwhile, here's a picture of me glowing in Christ.)
Mordecai: you know that God doesn't call the qualified but He qualifies the called. That's exactly what happened with Mordecai. You must have remembered when Mordecai was just sitting at the king's gate, (Esther 2:19) and how God kept on lifting Mordecai from there; making a fool of his enemy: Haman. And now look at this! Everyone feared Mordecai, (Esther 9:3) because God's hand was with him. They feared Mordecai so much because he was now a great man in the king's house... like who would have thought? It wasn't just Isaac or Jehoshaphat that waxed greater and greater, Mordecai waxed greater and greater and his fame went out throughout all the provinces. Mordecai did a better job than Haman, he wasn't a lazy man.
The Jews: on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month the King's order came into effect, it was the very day their enemies had planned to overpower them. Their enemies were hoping, but they weren't sure yet, to me that was like a red flag... because how will you be hoping to get your opponent, you are supposed to be certain. But look at the Jews, they were sure of themselves they were sure their God would not leave them. The Jews had rule over their enemies! (Esther (9:1) There was this strange unity among the Jews, they had gathered in the cities, and they weren't hiding they faced their enemies. And God was so good, no man could stand against them, and He raised helpers for the Jews. (Esther 9:3) They destroyed their enemies, but even in all these killings they didn't take their goods, they were content! (Esther 9:9-10) They killed the ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha their archenemy. The Jews celebrated, they were grateful people and they knew how to give (Esther 9:22) because they had won the battle, so they feasted and rejoiced, the time of fasting and mourning had passed (Esther 9:17,18-19) But when the Jews decided to relax, eat and feast, their archenemy Haman son of Hammedatha, had schemed to destroy them all, so he cast lot to throw them into a panic and destroy them. I got scared here, because I had this thought, so, just this one time the Jews decided to be happy and feast on the enemy was planning for their downfall.
King Xerxes: the king came and told Esther how the Jews had killed five hundred men, plus Haman's ten sons. He didn't just stop there he was still at the feet of Esther; he went further to ask her what else she wanted. And I'm like… King Xerxes was a simp for Esther, Lol!
Queen Esther: Esther was still favored; she didn't just agree to be okay she went further to present her request asking for the public display of the ten sons of Haman hanged. (Esther 9:14,25-26) I didn't know Esther could be like that... but I like this, Esther. Queen Esther, didn't take her eyes off her people, she heard about Haman's scheme she told the king and immediately, he ordered that his evil scheme should backfire on his head. (Esther 9:24-26)
