How To Be Alone With God
Jesus desires intimacy with you.
Hey Stars!!
Let me share a side of myself that not many people know. Here it comes..I don’t like being alone. I like to see people around me but still enjoy my own space. Shocking right? Because I’m introverted. Welp, I don’t like to admit it.
This is me sharing my big secret with you, lol. I don’t like doing things on my own. I enjoy being a follower and not a leader. I'm sure Yahweh Shalom noticed and decided to placed me in a situation where I had to learn to be alone.
While I was alone, here are a few things I began to do:
• Began to love and be kinder to myself.
• Called old friends.
• Listened and danced to music.
• Had intimacy with the Holy Spirit.
• Listened to various podcasts and my audio Bible.
• Meditated and had quiet time with the Lord.
• Made a letter to my future self.
• Organized my closet.
• Journaled.
• Watched movies.
• Read books.
I write today because I want us to dig deeper into what it means to be alone with God — your Maker, your All. John 15:7 — Jesus was saying: “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! Isn’t that so amazing??!!Jesus desires intimacy with you. Every day He awaits you — no matter how far you’ve gone, or left your secret place, or you’re wondering, How do I even meet God? The truth is, He loves you, and He has always been present with you. God is so mindful of you. He visits you every morning (see Job 7:18). You’re not a nobody — God needs you, and He wants to fellowship with you.
Aloneness with God means perfect peace. It means complete vulnerability before Him. It means to be naked before your Father, hiding nothing. When you want to be alone with your Father, you go before Him acknowledging that He is very real and inviting His presence into the atmosphere.
How can you meet God?
First start by entering into His courts with praise, worship, and adoration. The Psalmist knew this powerful secret of God, see Psalm 100:4. Because our God is mighty, He is a King. You don’t just meet Him casually — you dance before Him, you worship Him, praise Him, and give Him thanks.
Then carve out time out of the 24 hours specifically for God. Take out every distraction. Don’t deceive yourself. Let your heart be expectant that He is here. Be conscious of Him. Then lay down your request before Him. Remind Him of His promises in the Scripture.
Now hold on there, don’t run away from His presence. Pause to hear from Him. Prepare your heart that He will speak to you. Even if you feel like it’s your thought, take your pen and paper and write it down. That’s how you begin to build intimacy with Him.
God is very real, and He is always speaking. Enough of doing transactions with God — it’s time for you to enter into His palace and have communion with Him. To seek His face and no longer His hand. And you must see it as a relationship. You don’t just do it once and say, God didn’t speak to me. No, you must continually desire and seek His face, and our God is good, kind, and merciful. He will hear you.
The final and most important secret of meeting God is through the Word of God. The Word of God is Spirit and Life. Don’t joke with it. That’s God’s voice already speaking to you. For those of us that love drama like me, you can play the audio Bible to understand God more how He speaks, His character traits.
Once you’re done talking to God, hearing Him, and reading His Word, give Him thanks, worship Him, and believe that He is with you always. Because let me burst your bubble, you’re never alone. God’s eyes are always watching over you, Proverbs 15:3 tells us so:“The Lord is watching everywhere, keeping His eye on both the evil and the good.”See also Hebrews 4:13.
Star, I hope with this letter you will pause and meet your Father, because He has always fixed you in His thoughts, waiting for you to just let Him into your life, to give Him a chance.
I’ll be wrapping up here, but I’ll leave you with one of my favourite scriptures: “As for me, since I am poor and needy, let the Lord keep me in His thoughts. You are my helper and my saviour. O my God, don’t delay.” Psalm 40:17
God has heard you and wants to meet you too.
Always and Forever Rooting for You,
With love,
Rejiwritess.
xx.
