If you're reading this now, I want you to know I cleared out my schedule just so I could write this to you: yup! I adore you that much! The truth is I keep praying for you and hoping you have a better today. Just wanted to say you're on my mind and in my prayers.
So, last Friday I shared with you The Lessons I Learned from Esther. I'm sure you were in awe at the attitude of Haman's wife. I was too, today I have even more exciting SECRETS to share with you! Stay with me as I reveal the SECRETS to you:
King Ahasuerus: I believe, that to be a king means you get to rule your kingdom and have everything you need. But something struck me, a whole King Ahasuerus couldn't sleep. (Esther 6:1) so he was as well ordinary as anyone, because why couldn't he use his power and influence to command or give rest to his eyes? He was still restless so he ordered the record book to be brought to him and read. (Esther 6:2) Then, the reader got to the story about Mordecai, who had exposed the plot of the two royal eunuchs with their plan to assassinate King Xerxes. And until he honored Mordecai before his eyes could rest. I urge you to pray: Lord, take away my helpers' sleep until they honor me in Jesus' name, Amen!
Haman: Here was Haman, our antagonist: Perhaps, sipping tea, or having the most expensive wine, as he was walking in the court. He was about to tell the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he prepared for him: how despiteful! He was in the wrong place but at the right time, the king needed advice and he was in the court. (Esther 6:4) Then the king asked him a simple question: what should be done to the man whom the king delighted in honor? And he went on thinking of course! It should be me the king wants to honor- who else could it be? So, full of pride, he told the king what should be done, as he thought it was for him. (Esther 6:8-9) But to his surprise, the king told him to do it for Mordecai, the person he loathed to his bones! His pride was shattered, he made a fool of himself and had to robe Mordecai and lead him through the city square, proclaiming 'This is what is done for the man whom the king especially wants to honor!' I'm sure this must have been a slap on Haman's face. That day, Haman was mourning and humiliated, he covered his face in shame and went home to tell his wife and friends. This reminded me of the scripture Proverbs 11:2a when pride cometh, then cometh shame
Zeresh and friends: on getting home, Haman told his wife and friends everything that had befallen him. But then his knowledgeable friends that were there, told him that if Mordecai was a Jew, then his bad luck had only begun... yikes! and he doesn't stand a chance against him— they told him, he is as good as ruined!— Ha! Now, to reveal one of the SECRETS, pay attention to Zeresh Haman’s wife can you see how wicked his wife was, after she had advised Haman to build a gallows, she changed her words, and joined the knowledgeable friends to say that to her husband! Such a pity!
Sweet one, this is where I draw the curtains, but I promise to reveal the remaining SECRETS to you next week. Enjoy the rest of your day.
If you read up to this point, you are a real one and I'm happy for you.
Thank you for reading,
Go burn bright you are a star.
XOXO.
