2025? YOU DID GREAT.
....fresh wave of freedom, love, memories, and joy.
Hey Star!
How have you been? The year is wrapping up quietly but at an unimaginable speed. What’s one thing you’re grateful for? Did you love 2025, or was this year not so great for you? I would love to hear from you. Sending warm hugs and kisses.
Welp, I didn’t forget about you for a second. I’ve missed writing to you, and I’m so happy that I get to again. The fact that I always have a safe space to come back to and share my life experiences feels like my perfect creamy chocolate cake. This letter is my little way of telling my brain, YOU DID GREAT!! And I’m especially thanking you, Stars, for being with me through the most exciting, sweet, adventurous, rocky, and fierce moments of my life. I hope this letter sparks gratitude, peace, laughter, reflection, and wisdom. This one is specially written just for you.
The versions of you that you may never get to exist again are ready to be re-lived. Let’s get delulu for a second, just imagine if God, the ruler of the world, gave you one chance to re-live a version of yourself. Which one would you pick: your childhood, your secondary school graduation, your undergraduate convocation, your country’s youth service year? Or could it be the innocent version, the version before heartbreak, the version that didn’t know better?
There are so many versions to think of, and you may just want to have a taste again, maybe do the things you didn’t do back then. For me, if I were given this opportunity, it would be so much more but if I should mention them, my teenage years, my convocation, and my NYSC orientation camp experience would definitely stand out.
Looking back now at my convocation experience; the journey, the gratitude, the laughter, the peace, and the realization that girl, you’re not so little anymore—it’s something to cherish deeply. Graduating from Redeemer’s University in October 2025 with a First Class degree was mind-blowing for me. I honestly couldn’t believe it, and I knew I couldn’t have done it without God. So why would I love to experience it again? The joy. There’s something about reaching a milestone, and that convocation was it for me: me in my gown, the entire ceremony, the day out with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and that fresh wave of freedom, love, memories, and joy.
I know you might be wondering, “Isn’t NYSC all depressing?” when you saw the phrase my NYSC orientation camp experience. But no—it was practical, diverse, raw, fun, and exciting for me. I wouldn’t mince words: before I went to camp, I was frightened, worried, and anxious because most of the feedback and content I consumed didn’t look promising. But as soon as I arrived, I was surprised at how quickly I made a friend, and just like that, the wave of anxiety and fear melted away.
The first week was horrible for me. I lost my appetite, and everything felt strange, which is normal when you change environments. But the next two weeks were amazing, exciting, and fun. So yes, that experience, without the stress—is something I wouldn’t mind reliving.
My little advice to those who haven’t gone for their camping experience yet is this: have an open mind. It might stretch you at the beginning, but what kept me going was knowing that I only get to camp once in my life, so why not make the most of it? Another piece of advice is to build capacity while you have time: spiritually, mentally, physically, socially, and emotionally. And lastly, remember, camp is not your home or your comfort zone.
Welp, Stars. As 2025 comes to an end in less than 48 hours, I want to know which delulu experience you’d love to re-live or experience again, and one thing you’re genuinely grateful for this year.
Plus, if you’ve read up to this point, you’re a real one. And if you’d like me to write more about my NYSC experience, leave a comment.
Thank you for reading.
Go burn bright in the new year, you are a star.
XOXO.
